Saif Ali Khan attacked during robbery attempt at his Mumbai residence, admitted to Lilavati hospital

As per the initial information received, an unidentified person intruded into the residence of the actor on Wednesday night. His house staff began shouting after seeing the thief, after which Saif woke up. He got injured during the incident while the thief feared being caught.

The actor was immediately rushed to Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital. Mumbai Police's DCP Zone 9, Dixit Gedam said that an investigation is underway and Mumbai Crime Branch is also conducting a parallel investigation in the case. After receiving information about the incident, the Bandra police reached the spot and launched an investigation.

As per police source, statements of Saif Ali Khan's staff members will be recorded as a routine. Police is also examining the CCTV footage of the building. According to the police, Saif Ali Khan was attacked only by an unknown person. At present, no statement has come from the police regarding the arrest of the accused.

Saif Ali Khan lives with his wife Kareena Kapoor Khan and his two kids, Taimur and Jeh in Mumbai's Bandra. They reside in the Satguru Sharan building in Bandra West.

The COO of Lilavati Hospital, Dr Niraj Uttamani elaborated about the incident and shared information about the current health condition of the actor. ''Saif was attacked by an unidentified person in his house. He was brought in at 3:30 am in Lilavati. He has six injuries, two of which are deeper. One of the injuries is closer to his spine. We are operating on him. He is being operated upon by Neurosurgeon Nitin Dange, cosmetic surgeon Leena Jain, and anaesthetist Nisha Gandhi. We will be tell the extent of the damage only after the surgery is done,'' Hindustan Times reported quoting the doctor.

He has several big projects in his kitty including Go Goa Gone 2, Race 4, Jewel Thief, Click Shankar, Spirit, an untitled project with Priyadarshan and also with his daughter Sara Ali Khan.
